What made you want to study with the Coatings Training Institute? Where were you in your career when you began your studies?
I had begun my job as a part of Tor Coatings Technical team and as much as I learned plenty on the job there were areas that I had limited knowledge in and doing a course with CTI certainly improved my knowledge in these areas.
How did you find your experience studying through CTI? What were your main takeaways? What was the level of difficulty for you?
I have had a great experience with CTI. My main takeaways from my time on my course, and the further I go into my modules is that there are so many factors and interesting topics regarding paint and coatings in general. There were some areas of difficulty, but I found that the work was well explained, and I could rely on my tutor to clarify any misunderstandings.
How did your studies help you in your career? Where are you now?
This course has been a bonus in my career. I have now moved into the Quality Control team at Tor Coatings, and I have goals to progress further with my career with Tor Coatings as my knowledge increases.
What does being shortlisted for BCF’s Student of the Year Award mean to you?
I’ll be honest I was completely shocked when I received the email. It was a surprise and it just confirmed that my hard work for my course is paying off.
What would you say to someone looking to study through CTI?
There is no room for doubt. Don’t hold yourself back. Give yourself the chance to learn and experience something new – the world of coatings waits for you.
